FixedHeader JavaScript Bug?

Hi
I have a report with a table containing 26 columns, the tableheader is fixed when scrolling (nice) and I have set the leftmost column to FixedHeader. It is possible via paramters for the user to select which columns that should be visible. But when some columns not are visible then I get a script exception after rendering, 'children.0.style' is null or not an object, resulting in no fixed headers at all.

If I remove som columns so that there is only 18... it works.
Seems lika bug to me?
Where can I supply bug reports, I also have one upgrading bug concerning code page?

Regards

I can take care of getting the issue investigated and verified. Do you have a sample RDL file you can post here? That would be helpful in reproducing the bug.|||

Hi Fredrike

Did you get any solution to fix the header of a rdl file which was showing the javascript error

children.0.style is null or not an object ?

Can you give me some solutions to solve this issue?

There are some fixes to bugs in fixed headers in SP2. Without more details, there is no way I can know if these apply to your situation.

Can you post an rdl file that is causing this problem?

I have just had the same problem and in my case it appears to have been caused by cells being merged in a row that are across both fixed and scrolling columns. I had to re-design my report so that the cells in the fixed columns are not merged with any that are not fixed, then it worked fine.

Fiscal year search

Hi

I am trying to perform a search that will return records based on a
fiscal year search of the bill_Date. The user gives the year then I
want to search based on the fiscal year (July 1 - June 30) for the year
given. The table looks like this

Bill Table
id_Num bill_date bill_amount
23 7/1/2005 500.00
33 12/2/2005 600.00
44 3/3/2006 700.00

I have tried

Select Bill.id_num, Bill.bill_date, Bill.bill_amount
from Bill
where Bill.bill_date BETWEEN 7/1/ + @.year and 6/30/ + (@.year +1)

Plus a variety of other fruitless concoctions...but nothing seems to
work. Any help would be appreciated.Discovered answer on my own. Thanks anyway.

Hi Dan,

The best way to solve this is to have a calendar table (see
http://sqlserver2000.databases.aspf...dar-table.html),
with FiscalYear as one of it's columns.

Second best is to build a date in string format, using a format that is
guaranteed to be unabiguous WRT the order of day and month: yyyymmdd.
For isntance, for a fiscal year that starts on july first:

DECLARE @.FiscalYear int
SET @.FiscalYear = 2006
SELECT something
FROM sometable
WHERE TheDate >= CAST(@.Year AS varchar) + '0701'
AND TheDate < CAST(@.Year + 1 AS varchar) + '0701'

First Transaction Slow

Hi!
I am working on a Delphi 5, SQL Server project. I am running a
process, which processes information in batches and then commits the
information in a database.
The process performs multiple commits on the database in a single run.
My problem is that before the first commit, the process is very slow
but just as the first commit is performed, the process speeds up. The
same block of code, which interacts with the database, processes
information and takes around 2500 ms to complete suddenly starts taking
200 ms. There is no difference in the flow of code before or after the
commit.
I have figured out that this is the problem with the transaction
restart. As soon as the transaction is restarted (committed and then
restored) the process speeds up. But I can't find out the reason why
it is like this, why is the first transaction slow. It even speeds up
if I just abort the first transaction manually and then start a new
one.
Can anybody help me find a reason behind this that why is the
transaction exhibiting such behavior? I need to know why the things
are slow before the first commit. It seems that the transaction
restart has created a drastic effect on the process. But what and why?
Thanks in advance.
P.S: I have debugged it like hell and have made sure that it's not a
code or data specific problem.
Could it be physical I/O in the first run, and data cached in subsequent runs? Can be tested doing

firehosemode

HI
I am trying to design merge replication.
step1:configure sqlservr1 as publisher and distributor and published pubs
database.
step2:from sqlserver2 i tried to pull the data using pull
subscription.everything works fine.
step3:again i decided to disabled publishing then start disabling step by
step finally i disabled sqlserver1 as publisher and distributor.
step4:i went to pubs database and start entering data in column mode some
tables allowing data but some tables raising errors saying that errors#
(transaction cannot start in firhosemode).
errors#(data entered is inconsistent value check datatype)
Can anyone help should be appreciated.

Firehose mode

Hi
I'm in Enterprise Manager and have made a change to a row.
When I try to update I get a message that says:
Transaction cannot start, Firehose mode"

Can anyone explain what this is and what it means ?

Thanks

It means that you should open a Query Analyzer window and write an UPDATE
statement.

My guess is that EM has at this point not yet retrieved all rows, and
since the result set is still open, the connection does not permit a
new operation to be initiated. Note that this has more implications
than just not being able to update the row. It also means that SQL
Server needs to keep the untrieved rows locked.

I don't know exactly what it means. But I usualay solve this problem opening
not whole table but only e.q. TOP 10

br
Bober|||Erland,

Doesn't FIREHOSE mode mean that EM has read the records in a "forward only
cursor" and has no means of updating? Hence the name "firehouse" which is a
rapid stream of data only going 1 way.
